Tool #2- Building Community in the Online Environment

Today I was able to visit many fellow VOE teachers blogs and see their thoughts on 11 Tools! I have been blogging for awhile now and try hard to update my classroom blog for parents as much as possible. I follow many other teacher blogs and have found so many helpful ideas for lessons out there! There is a huge community of teacher bloggers with amazing ideas. I am glad we are able to comment on blogs...even if its just a quick note to say thanks for sharing an amazing idea. One of my favorite blogs to follow is www.thefirstgradeparade.blogspot.com. This is an amazing 1st grade teacher with such talent and energy from who knows where!

  1. I totally agree! There are so many interesting blogs I've seen as I just started blogging these last 6 months. The creativity of the community of teachers is such an inspiring tool for our classrooms & collaboration. We will have to get together on a few idea basics, including the fun stuff, such as amazing colorful background.

  2. It's great to find and read fresh, new, creative ideas...but I think some people have found the secret stash of extra time in a day. I'm searching for it. Teaching, blogging, and having a life outside teaching and blogging is the dream. :)

  4. I'm trying to figure it out as well. I work hard to participate in this online world but find it so difficult to find the time on a weekly basis - much less daily. I'm wondering if I just have too many interests/commitments. If only I had a housekeeper a couple of times a week... ;-)
